Who We Are
Born and raised in Germany, founder/owner Kristine Seinsch traveled the world before coming to California in 1994 and falling in love with the beautiful weather, diverse culture, and bountiful year-round harvest of the Bay Area.
Kristine started working in the food service business from an entry-level position as a server, advancing to restaurant management and catering director before finally creating her own businesses. In 2001 Kristine started ACT Catering, following up the next year opening The Jazzcaffè, a beloved Berkeley gem. As an independent business owner herself, Kristine loves partnering with other food vendors and social service organizations in the community, fostering a cooperative environment where everyone can thrive.
Throughout the years, Kristine has been thrilled to work alongside incredible teams of chefs, servers, and kitchen and office staff who have kept ACT Catering and Jazzcaffè running smoothly with one delicious dish after the next. Kristine says, "Our love for fresh seasonal ingredients and simple but vibrant presentations has clients returning again and again.”
